Day three of the 17th annual Pony-113 World Series from Modesto, California came to an end. Two more teams were eliminated, and two teams have been determined for the championship game.
GAME 1: REDONDO, CA 5, SAN ANTONIO, TX 1
San Antonio, TX did not give up without a fight against Redondo, CA.
Aidan Yamashita doubled in the first for Redondo, CA. He scored on an error, giving them a 1-0 in the first inning.
San Antonio was not done yet, Gabriel Castoreno was the lead off the third inning with a double to left field. A Medrano hit an RBI tying the game 1-1.
It was in the fifth inning when Redondo, CA pulled away with the lead. Keijiro Hattori single to the shortstop. He scored on an error extending the lead to 3-1. Ethan Peterson followed with a double to right field scoring Yamashita bringing the score to 4-1.
In the bottom of the sixth, a bases load walk gave Redondo, CA their final run of the game, making the score 5-1.
Addison Medrano was on the mound for San Antonio, TX. He went four and two thirds’ innings, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out eight and walking zero.
Joey Kim was on the hill for Redondo, CA. He surrendered one run on four hits over five innings, striking out four and walking zero.
Lino Garcia Jr led San Antonio, TX with two hits in three at bats.
With these results, Redondo, CA moves to 2-1 and went on to play San Jose PAL yesterday July 25th at 4:00 p.m. PST/US. Unfortunately, San Antonio, TX finished the World Series with a record of 1-2.

GAME 2: SIERRA MADRE, CA 5, HAGERSTOWN, MD 2
Sierra Madre, CA was victorious over Hagerstown, MD, 5-2.
Bradley Loiacono singled to right field to start things off for Sierra Madre, CA. Two errors allowed Sierra Madre, CA to score the first two runs of the game.
Sierra Madre, CA extended their lead in the fourth inning. Ezekiel Rodriguez doubled to center field scoring Dylan Hoang extending the lead to 4-1. Following, Aiden Mahoney singled to left field scoring Rodriguez.
Brooks Norris hit an RBI to center field scoring Brady Maciejewski to give Hagerstown, MD their final run of the game.
Aiden Mahoney was on the mound for Sierra Madre, CA. He lasted three and a third inning, allowing four hits, and one run while striking out four and walking one.
Maciejewski got the start for Hagerstown, MD. He lasted six innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out four and walking one.
With the results, Sierra Madre moves to 2-1 in the World Series and went on to play La Quinta, CA on July 25th. Unfortunately, Hagerstown, MD ended the World Series with a record of 1-2.

GAME 3: SAN JOSE PAL 9, REDONDO, CA 3
San Jose PAL was victorious over Redondo, CA, 9-3.
San Jose PAL got on the board early when Alexander Kim singled in the first inning.
Redondo, CA came back and scored when Lucas Alvear hit an RBI in the second inning.
It looked like hope when Redondo, CA took the lead in the third inning with back to back singles from John Hall and Keijiro Hattori.
Three errors and a double by Nathan Choi gave San Jose PAL a 5-3 lead.
San Jose PAL scored four runs in the sixth inning. The offense came from walks by Liam Wong and Kim and an error.
On the mound for San Jose PAL was Travis Linane. He went two innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out one.
Evan Wieser was on the mound for Redondo, CA. He surrendered five runs on five hits over four innings, striking out one.

La Quinta was unstoppable right from the stop, scoring four runs in the first inning. Carlos Guzman, Cole Meka, Jesus Gutierrez all singled in the first inning.
Zachary Bernsten was on the mound for La Quinta, CA. He allowed zero hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out six.
Dylan Hoang started on the hill for Sierra Madre, CA. He surrendered four runs on one hit, walking zero.
